I truly hate writing about myself, but even more I hate websites where people write about themselves in 3rd person ("xxx has achieved so and so, he/she is the greatest this and that bla bla bla...") , so here goes nothing.

My name is Pentti Dassum, b.1972 in Krefeld, Germany. I make Umpio noise with amplified junks and craptacular electronix. At best this gives me a state of voodoo trance. Actually at it's worst it does too. I love jazz and i hate your band.

I am a self-taught sound manipulator. I go by ear. I don't "have a studio", I've always worked in other people's places. Actually, I've been in real studios just a few times in my life. All the works that I've done have mostly been made with total guerrilla setups in saunas, basements, bedrooms and warehouses. In the last 10 years I've been also doing mastering jobs for tons of different bands and labels. If you want to work with me then drop me a line.

This website is a personal museum for my work in various fields of music. I've been "at it" for 20+ years so I need to start keeping track of all this before I forget even more than I'm already losing track of. I don't have a facebook or twitters page and I'm a lousy forum participant.

Sometimes people seem to have a problem with what I do cos it's maybe such a confusing mess of genres, but let's say that wherever there's a crossing point between true fire, craftmanship and lunacy, that's where you'll find me.

One day I'll compile a CV.
