COSMO JONES BEAT MACHINE
After being a huge fan since i heard some demos from before the 1st album, then eventually recording their sessions, and doing live sound for them on the road I got "promoted" to join on bass in early 2006. Due to the fact that we live a million miles from each other it's not the fastest unit, but man is it boiling. Hardcore tundra boogie between Beefheart, Burnside and Quintron. Info HERE.
FAARAO PIRTTIKANGAS & KUHMALAHDEN NUBIALAISET
Cosmo Jones side project since ca 2008, backing up Pekka whenever he needs a band. He does a lot of solo gigs, too, without a band, or with other line-ups, sometimes even with Badass Brass Band. But when this band is on I play keyboard, junks and whatnot. Barnyard gospel and juke joint jams between Skronkle and the Wolf. Info HERE.
TAMPO
This came after Kusti and Simo played with Astro and Pharaoh gigs in 2008 or 9. Eventually Kusti asked me to join in on guitar and junks. It's incredibly intense music between kindergarten grooves, traditional finnish sounds, dub and caveman jazz. Info HERE.
BUDDHA MIND BIG BAND
A project led by Eki Joutseno that plays improvised tibetan ritual music. Very relaxed and klonky. I play junks, gongs and create soundscapes. Between meditation sounds and primitive free jazz. Info HERE.
LES MANURES
An inevitable collaboration between Tommi Keränen and me. A few gigs and some crazy recordings already done. Total double bulldozer massacre between scorching electronix noise and metal junk abuse. Started in late 2009, yet no more info available yet.
UMPITUOMIO
An inevitable collaboration between Janne Tuomi and me started in 2010. Double percussion unit with JT playing his insane drums with contact mikes going through my noise channels against me playing them junks. Between meditation rituals and free jazz. STRINGPUREE
I do the live sound and play a mini set of junkstruments from behind the mixer for this great prog trio led by Astro Otto's sister Senni, who plays this huge 39-stringed Kantele. Also ex-Astro Niko is on drums, so it's pretty inbred again. Info HERE.
